![]() Hmm.I called Mercedes and they said the AR-15 head unit in their Sprinter models has no “auto play” feature, and no way in its own Settings to access a way to choose, one way or another, whether it signals the iPhone to start any app when connected. Thank you for any advice you can offer!! It’s making me nuts!! How do I set it to just keep playing from my playlist in order like it used to do for a decade or more? (Also, FYI, all my iTunes tasks are done from my phone which has not been synced with a computer at any time). So I have to go in, turn off the random and find where I was previously in my playlist and start from there again. It just starts playing some random song from my library AND it also somehow sets itself to play all the library music randomly. Now when I start up the music again not only does it not start where it left off, it doesn’t even stay within the playlist. Issue with playing selected music Since I began using iTunes years and years ago music playback has always worked the same - whenever I’m listening to a playlist, regardless of HOW I’m listening (Bluetooth car stereo, speaker or even just using the phone’s speaker), and I have stopped the music, it “holds its place” so that when I start it up again it begins right where it left off and goes from there. ![]() Why is this automatic, Apple, and how do we shut it off! I could simply mute the volume on my Sprinter audio system, but that would also mute phone calls, Google maps instructions, etc, all of which I want to continue to come through the Sprinter speakers. I’m on the road, cannot access my desktop iMac. Maybe this is visible on the desktop iTunes, but not in the iPhone. Click OK, quit iTunes,” but I cannot find said menu in the app. Check the box at the bottom of that window. This happens even if I completely close the app (swipe up.) As far as I can see, there’s no “Stop” button for the iTunes app, only Pause and Play.Īn earlier 2013 post about this says “From the iTunes menu at the top go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices>Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically. If I go into the app and hit Pause, then do almost anything else on the iPhone - use Messages or Maps, etc., the music starts again, even though I did not go back into iTunes and hit play.
